Aisha Maureen Edward, president of Association of People Living with Sickle Cell Disorder, has just escaped the grim reaper by the whiskers, having once again recovered from a midnight crisis that almost claimed her life last night.
Narrating her ordeal while recuperating in the emergency ward, St Joseph’s Hospital, Adazi, Edward said that her lungs failed her around 12:00am and she passed out.
“It took the effort of my brave 12 year old daughter to summon the association’s chaplain, Rev. Fr. Barr. Obiora Okeke who took me to St Joseph’s Catholic Church where I was attached to external oxygen, and revived.
“I don’t know why God keeps bringing me back to life after all these near death experiences.
She gave thanks to God for keeping her as well as all who contributed towards reviving her.
PS: I urge all men and women of Goodwill to make time and visit this firebrand lady at the hospital. She has impacted positively in the lives of many sickle cell patients in Anambra State and Nigeria at large through her advocacies and interventions and deserves our love.
